The Houston Texans have officially signed cornerback Bryce Hall, bolstering their roster ahead of an upcoming preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders. General manager Nick Caserio announced the signing on August 17, shortly after Hall participated in a workout with the team.
Hall, 28, previously played for the New York Jets and most recently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, being selected 158th overall. In his career, Hall has started in 26 of 40 games, accumulating 122 total tackles, two interceptions, one fumble recovery, one defensive touchdown, and half a sack.
His size at 6-foot-1 adds to his versatility, and he is expected to contribute on special teams, an area where the Texans are seeking improvement.
The Texans are currently facing injury challenges within their secondary, with several players, including Tank Dell and Brevin Jordan, not practicing due to various ailments. These injuries could significantly impact the team's special teams performance, making Hall's addition timely as he aims to provide depth and experience.
