As Baylor football prepares for the upcoming season, the projected offensive starters have been announced following the second week of fall camp. The team is gearing up for its first game, and the lineup appears to be solidifying.
DJ Lagway is set to take the helm as the starting quarterback. Coaches have praised Lagway's performance since joining the team, and he expressed his comfort in the offensive system designed by Jake Spavital, which could enhance his skills and contribute to a strong offensive performance in the Big 12.
Dawson Pendergrass is expected to be the starting running back. After missing last season, Pendergrass aims to make a significant impact, having previously accumulated over 670 rushing yards and six touchdowns in his first two seasons. His physical running style and ability to catch passes make him a valuable asset in the backfield.
The wide receiver positions are likely to feature Louis Brown IV and Dre'lon Miller. Brown, who previously played for Colorado State and San Diego State, is anticipated to be the primary deep threat. Miller, a former top recruit, had a productive stint at Colorado, showcasing versatility as both a receiver and a hybrid player.
Gavin Freeman, a transfer from Oklahoma State, is projected to fill the slot receiver role. Known for his speed and agility, Freeman could be a key player in short routes and return situations.
At tight end, Tony Livingston joins the team after two years at Florida. Although he was not a consistent starter, he brings experience and skills as both a blocker and a pass catcher, providing familiarity for Lagway.
